The Fourth of July is almost here, and those white tents are popping up in parking lots everywhere to sell you fireworks.

Beautiful, fun, and exciting, fireworks are a HUGE part of celebrating America’s birthday. However, these pyrotechnics can be very dangerous if not handled or used correctly. According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, “5,600 firework-related injuries were treated in U.S. emergency departments during a one month study” in 2018.

To help prevent these injuries, please consider the following:

  1. Never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that haven’t fully ignited
  2. Keep a source of water nearby in the event of a fire
  3. After fireworks finish burning, douse them with water before discarding
  4. Lastly, never allow children to play with fireworks! In addition to following these safety tips, using common sense will help keep you and your family and friends safe when handling fireworks!

The SunnySide Supply Team wishes you a happy and safe Independence Day!
